Richmond Kiwanis Membership
Kiwanis International is a global organization of members dedicated to serving the children of the world. Kiwanis and its family of clubs—nearly 600,000 members strong—annually raise more than US$100 million and dedicate more than 18 million volunteer hours to strengthen communities and serve children. Members of every age attend regular meetings, experience fellowship, raise funds for various causes and participate in service projects that help their communities. Members also make an impact throughout the world by participating in Kiwanis International’s Global Campaign for Children,
The Kiwanis Club of Richmond was chartered in 1945 and historically, our primary responsibility has always been the Richmond Kiwanis Seniors low cost housing on Minoru Boulevard. The club also supports programs such as single parent continuing education, Youth 4H Club, Air Cadets, The Food Bank, Salvation Army, Junior Diabetes, Richmond Therapeutic Equestrian Centre, Richmond Disability Centre, Chimo, Richmond School District R.C.M.P. Boot camp, The Hope of Canada Awards at Richmond Elementary Schools, Richmond Youth Chess Tournament and Kiwanis Youth Cancer research . Our Low Cost Senior Housing new buildings will be complete in 2015.
The Kiwanis Club of Richmond meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month. The 1st meeting is a business meeting and the 3rd meeting is a dinner meeting. Membership fees are $120.00 per year; these fees cover International and District dues. The time has come for you to join our ranks to keep good things happening in Richmond, and keep making this community a better place to live.
